RESIDENTS living near the Reebok Stadium are calling for a football nuisance committee to be set up in Horwich following Saturday's violence.
As reported yesterday, police had to quell trouble before and after Bolton's derby game with Manchester United.
Rival fans battled along Chorley New Road and police riot vans moved into Horwich town centre after the match when fighting broke out.
David Greenfield, secretary of Brazley Residents' Committee, wants a committee in which local concerns could be voiced and presented to the football club, the council and police.
Mr Greenfield said: "The disruption to normal activities on match days will become a way of life.
"It would seem to make sense to set up a football nuisance committee to listen to all of Horwich's concerns."
He said residents would be liaising on Thursday with the consultation group set up by Wanderers, and would be outlining concerns about the match and tonight's Premiership clash with Spurs.
The residents are to hold a public meeting on October 1 at St Elizabeth's Church Hall, Cedar Avenue, when it is hoped club and police representatives will attend.
Mr Greenfield praised police for the way they handled Saturday's match.
He said: "We would like to thank them for their positive and decisive actions in listening to our concerns."
