SUPERMARKET shoppers have been reaping the benefits of customer bonus schemes for the last few months.

And now loyal regulars at a Bolton pub can cash in on the latest version of the bonus card phenomenon.

Drinkers at the Lostock Arms on Lostock Junction Lane have been lapping up landlord Dave Shaw's bonus card promotion since it began last month.

The system works by paying £3.50 to get a card and join the scheme. There are £1.50 worth of credits on the card. And each time customers buy a drink points get added onto the card.

Dave said: "It works well. People can use the points to cut the price of a round or stock them up for a few days and then spend a night in the pub when they don't have to pass any cash over the bar at all."

Every point on the card is equivalent to one pence behind the bar.

There are also various sessions during the week when card holders can claim cheap drink discounts at the pub.

With customers' details kept on computer they can be kept in touch with the latest promotions and information about the pub through a mailing system.

Dave added: "I'm delighted with it. It pays back loyalty to some of the regulars we have in here. But anybody can join up no matter how often they come in. Obviously the more times they do, the more benefit they end up getting out of it though."
