MEMBERS of the Ramsbottom branch of the British Sub Aqua Club will be able to splash out on new equipment, thanks to a £4,000 grant.
The money, awarded by the Foundation for Sports and the Arts, which is supported by Football Pools' cash, will contribute towards the purchase of diving equipment. It is one of three local awards to be made in the latest set of grants to be announced.
Other local sporting clubs to benefit are the Walkden Cricket Club and Kersal Football Club in Swinton.
Members of Walkden Cricket Club will receive £500 from the Foundation to purchase club equipment for the youth teams, while Kersal FC has £1,560 to spend on kits for two teams, nets, balls, training and match tops, and first aid equipment.
