PARENTS of a girl in six billion left imprisoned in her home by Bolton thieves have issued a new appeal for help.

The heartless thugs were featured in the BEN last week after stealing the portable oxygen cylinder the four year old youngster relies on.

Little Evelyn Jones who cannot walk or speak, and is the size of a toddler, needs the equipment to move safely out of the house.

She is the only known person in the world - estimated population of 5,845,282,638 (US Population Survey estimates) - suffering from a condition known as Undiagnosed Congenital Syndrome.

But despite an appeal in the BEN for the stolen oxygen tank, the equipment has not been found.

It was stolen more than a week ago when Evelyn's mother, Barbara, parked her black and grey Nissan Micra in the Morrisons store car park in Dawes Street, Bolton.

The tank was stolen by the thieves, together with a slow-flow meter and a disabled child's buggy.

As a result Evelyn is confined to her Westleigh home because the only other cylinder she has is not portable.

The missing equipment is valued at around £200 but is vital to Evelyn's quality of life. She needs apparatus to aid her breathing, virtually all day and wears both oxygen and feeding pipes.

Mrs Jones said: "There have been times when she has been very ill. Six months ago doctors did not want to continue treatment because she was so ill, but she managed to pull back from the brink."

But Evelyn has been offered a glimmer of hope by kind hearted donors there who intend to find replacement oxygen equipment for the youngster, meaning she could soon be back at Mayfield Special School in Chorley.

However, anyone with information on the whereabouts of the oxygen cylinder or buggy should contact Mrs Jones on 0161 856 5626.
