TOP OF the table Radcliffe Borough may be going great guns in the League as well as reaching two cup semi finals but manager Kevin Glendon is still looking to strengthen his squad.

His priority is a striker and he will now widen the net after being unable to clinch a deal with several clubs in the area.

His search for a proven goal scorer has intensified since Joe Connor limped out of Tuesday's victory over Alfreton in the President's Cup although Neil Moss did his chances no harm when he replaced Connor and scored the third goal.

"Pete McCray has gone on loan to Witton Albion and I may have to call him back because I am not prepared to pay the silly money being asked for certain players," said Glendon.

"Players we want to bring to the club need to be better than our existing ones and they will have to do a job for us in the future as well as the present.'

Glendon also has a selection problem at right back for the visit to fifth placed Stocksbridge with Tuesday's man of the match Jason Ashley unavailable through work commitments. It could mean a re-shuffle with Danny Donachie moving to full back and the fit-again Loz Greenhalgh returning to the centre of defence.

"Stocksbridge beat us 1-0 in our first home game of the season and they are not out of the promotion race yet but our confidence is sky high and games can't come quickly enough for us," added Glendon.

In the North West Counties, Atherton Collieries entertain Ramsbottom while Daisy Hill are involved in something of a local derby when they are at home to Ramsbottom United. Boro's sportsman's dinner, which has Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson as guest speaker and Manchester City fan Bernard Manning the comedian and billed as 'the only Manchester derby', on March 24 is now sold out.
