BOLTON Casino Club in Crompton Way is to go into voluntary liquidation, it was decided at a meeting of creditors. It is hoped, however, that the night-spot can be sold as a going concern, and in the meantime it will be business as usual. The Bolton Casino Club - formerly the Crompton Cinema, which was built in 1936 - was opened in June, 1961.

JEWISH terrorists, striking three times in a few hours during the night, blew up a 530-mile pipeline from the Iraq oilfields to the Palestine port of Haifa, and swept a RAF station with mortar and machine-gun fire. The Iraq Petroleum Company's pipeline, which was destroyed near Haifa and at a point 25 miles inland, can carry 80,000 barrels a day.

THE GUARDIANS AND THE TRAMP WARD

Sir, - After the inconvenience the Board of Guardians have been at in trying to find a suitable place for a tramp ward, I am astonished they have never had an eye to the spacious, lofty, and convenient cellaring underneath the whole of the Workhouse at Fishpool, only a very small portion of which has ever been made use of since the building was erected. In my humble opinion it might, with little expense, be converted into very suitable wards for that purpose, and would be far superior to many cellar buildings which are now occupied in the borough. Approaches and entrances might be made at the north and south ends without at all coming into contact with the inmates, or at all interfering with the ordinary routine of the house. Yours, &c., A LOOKER ON.
