TURTON got away to a flying start in their Lancashire Adidas Amateur Shield second round tie against rivals EAGLEY.

EAGLEY never recovered as Peter Cooper's side ran out emphatic 5-3 winners.

"We were well and truly beaten," admits Villagers' secretary Mark Hachin.

"We were 4-1 down at half time and then lost Phil Hutchinson with an injury."

Barry Darbyshire scored Eagley's first half goal with Pete Darby and Shaun Hill grabbing late consolations.

Triumphant manager Cooper said: "We raced into a three-goal lead inside half an hour with goals from Jimmy Kahn, Damien McGuire and Phil Donlan."

Kahn made it 4-1 just before half time and substitute Chris Jolley came on to make it five.

LITTLE HULTON UNITED managed to fill next week's blanl fixture date by forcing a 1-1 draw at Elton Fold.

Alan Davies got the vital goal for United in a tough clash with the current holders.

United secretary Elsie Blood says: "Although the pitch looked immaculate before kick off, it cut up pretty badly which didn't help us at all. We're just happy to have another crack at it on Saturday."

Saturday's replay kicks off at 1.45pm.

Two goals apiece from Steve Crilly and Clark Dobson, plus another from Tony Carter, put ATHERTON TOWN through 5-1 against Golborne Sports.

Carter later aggravated a groin injury that sidelined him for almost two full seasons and required extensive surgery. It's too early to asses the full extend of the latest injury. Town's Reserves lost 2-1 at Stockport Georgians.

TEMPEST UNITED RESERVES drew 1-1 at Fulwood Amateurs with Kev Jones scoring with a stunning volley.
