League Secretary Christine Crumblehulme says Hilton Centre youngsters Sally Baguley, Wayne Holden and Nicola Williamson were a "credit to the sport" when they represented table tennis at a recent council-organised "Have A Go" day at Horwich Leisure Centre.

She also notes with approval that Martin Ireland, the English Table Tennis Association's Regional Development Officer, has had his contract renewed for another two years.

Anybody wanting tickets (£5 adults, £3 children) for the England v Slovakia match at Crewe on Friday, November 8 is asked to ring 01270 211422.

Christine says volunteers are needed for the World TT Championships at the Nynex centre in Manchester next year.

Also, only £190 has come in so far from the Hilton Centre development scheme raffle tickets distributed to members. "It is very disappointing," she said. All money has to be in by the end of this week.
