No money for this, less money for that,

While those at the top are getting fat.

They are doing their best for us, they say,

Then award themselves a huge increase in pay.

Three to five per cent for life-savers,

Like paramedics, nurses, firefighters and such.

Because, if they give more to them,

They won't have enough. Twenty-six per cent -

Bet they rub their hands with glee.

Man mindeth thyself, it looks like to me.

Don't give a damn for anyone else at all.

They say they need this big pay rise,

Or their standard of living will fall.

Don't think "shame" you will hear many utter,

There's not many of them who are eating jam butties.

Brave and dedicated people have got a deal that's raw.

It's the ordinary man in the street who needs more.

So all of you citizens, take note,
