THE Bolton Boys Federation season got underway on with a newly-formed Under 18s Section B.

In the A section, Leigh RMI started in style with a 6-1 home win against Radcliffe Amateurs B, a brace each from Gary Anderson and Clint McLoughlin with further goals from Gary Crompton and Lee Jones.

In the same section, there was something of a shock result at Atherton Collieries where the home side held last season's champions Breightmet to a 2-2 draw with goals coming from a Carl Boydell header and a spectacular shot from 40 yards out by Nathan Ready with Adam Wiggley replying for Breightmet Utd .

In Section B there was a high-scoring game at Bromley Cross where Blackmoor HF were the visitors and they came away winning 9-3.

In the Under 16s Youth Section, Pennington started with an overwhelming 9-1 away win at newcomers St Elizabeths, Steven Small scoring a double hat-trick and another for Neil Fletcher.

Bolton Lads Club won away at Blackmoor HF 3-1 and Walshaw Sports started well with a 5-2 home victory over near neighbours Rossendale.

In the Under 15s , Leigh RMI won 3-0 at home to Bolton Lads Club and in the Under 14s there was an incredible scoreline in the game between Radcliffe Boro and Bromley Cross where the visitors came out winners 11-9 with hat-tricks for Nicholas Luke and Andrew Kelly. In the same section, Hindsford Juniors won their local derby game at home against Hindley Juniors 4-1.

In the Cubs Section Under 11s, new side AFC Bolton 'A' gave the teams in their section a warning winning 9-0 at home to Ribble Drive Raiders.
