BOLTON Under 15s manager Ivor Altdorf begins planning for the schools soccer season when he holds a town team trial at Sharples School on Thursday.

The team begin their campaign with an Northern Merit League match against Leeds on Saturday, but Altdorf will be trying to strengthen his squad which enjoyed mixed fortunes at U14 level last season as he is without Thomas Booth (Deane), who will be out for the season with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Bolton Under 14s have been given a tough home tie against St Helens in the 1st Round of the English Schools North West Woodward Trophy, Bury are also away at Burnley.

They have already had trials under new manager Paul Wilson and the squad is: Dale Newbrook (George Tomlinson), Nick Christodolou, Gareth Jones, Paul Bohanon (Westhoughton), Gavin Bank (Smithills), Sean Dootson, Matthew Crook (Mount St Joseph), Barry Trevette (Turton), Robert Nugent (Bolton School) John McGill (Little Lever), Chris Greenhalgh (Canon Slade), Brad Lyons, Michael Robinson (St James), Mark McKenna, Michael Ford (St Josephs) Michael Ford, Aaron Collier (Deane School) Will Archer (Shaples) Gary Pennington, Cliff Collins (Withins).
