Mark Westhead's 20th minute opener was followed by a powerful header from Adam Taylor to give County a 2-0 lead in the first match at Old Gregorians who pulled a goal back but could not break down a resolute County.

This was followed by a superb 7-0 victory over Old Blackburnians with goals from Danny Wadeson (3), Paul Swift (2), Steve Riley, Mark Westhead. The second team, who now play in the Premier Reserves, came back from a 3-1 home defeat to record an excellent away win at Leigh 4-0.
