SIR: I am writing to thank all of your readers and the thousands of people who have written letters, made phone calls, and walked miles delivering leaflets in support of our "moral victory" in showing Bolton Council in their true colours.
Although it now looks as if the elderly of Bolton are two homes fewer, they must be heartened by the warmth of compassion we have found during our campaign.
The three monkeys that Bolton Social Services have shown themselves to be - See no evil, Hear no evil, Do no evil - will now no doubt be very happy as they squander millions on "purple lions" for the Town Hall Square. Again, thank you for your support, and remember, it's a jungle out there, with the biggest fat cats you can see.
