MAINTENANCE work on one of Bolton Town Centre's main routes could lead to additional congestion for drivers.
Traffic heading out of town along Bradford Street will be redirected along Bradshawgate, Folds Road and Bury New Road. Traffic heading into town will still be able to use the street as normal.
Drivers travelling towards Bury from St Peter's Way, at the junction with Bradford Street will be redirected to St George's Road and Kay Street onto Folds Road.
Traffic for Darcy Lever will be advised to follow the diversion to Bury New Road and then onto Castle Street. Buses will also follow the diversion.
Diversion and warning signs will be set up to direct drivers along the correct route.
"Essential maintenance and resurfacing work has to be carried out on Bradford Street and unfortunately it will cause some delay for travellers," said Councillor Jack Foster, chairman of Planning and Engineering Services.
The work will start on Sunday.
