BOLTON design student Andy Wright expects his work to be flying high soon.

His design of a label for an in-flight wine bottle label has been selected for commercial use and will be supplied to major airlines in the near future.

Universal Wines and Spirits, who are Bolton wine wholesalers, approached Barbara Ashworth, graphic design tutor at Bolton Institute.

They wanted label ideas for Comodoro, an Argentinian wine supplied by the firm to airline operators.

Final year students worked successfully with Barbara Ashworth and Mike Green. Two specimen labels were accepted - one for Comodoro and the other, designed by Nicholas Cusick, for El Enceirro, a Spanish wine.

A Bolton Institute spokesman said the Comodoro label had gone into immediate production. Universal Wines and Spirits has made a financial contribution to the funding of an exhibition.
