SIR: Recently I've heard many ideas about how to celebrate the millennium by spending money on Bolton town centre, but what of Horwich, Blackrod and Westhoughton?
All Bolton is doing to celebrate the millennium for us is shutting down community centres, old people's homes etc. and to top it all a giant millennium tip right in the middle of our communities. And what of our policemen, or lack of them? Some estates are no-go areas where women, old folk and children are afraid to go out at night.
