BOLTON social services have pledged to talk to residents and their relatives before moving them to another home.
Director Steve Gallagher is confident there will enough vacancies in other nearby public and private sector homes for those who do not want to move out of the area where they currently live.
Because of the continually changing situation, Mr Gallagher could not give guarantees that OAPs would not be moved to another area against their wishes.
But he said: "I feel confident that having assessed the needs of each resident and consulted carefully with both the resident and their relatives we will be able to meet those needs and their wishes satisfactorily."
