The next meeting of the Rugby League Council, which should decide whether to fast-track South Wales and Huddersfield, has been set for next Friday.
Jeff Grayshon has retired from the game after 28 years. Grayshon, who played until he was 45, resigned as coach of Batley after their defeat by Rochdale put them at the foot of the First Division.
