Kearsley'S Steve Davies hit a magnificent 122 not out to earn the Bolton League a 78 run victory over the Manchester Association at Bolton Cricket Club.

Davies opened the Bolton innings and dominated the batting as he hit 12 fours and a six in his side's 227-4.

He shared in a partnership of 106 with Egerton's Wayne Harper then 72 with his Kearsley team-mate Paul Berry.

Against that, the Manchester Association were held together by Locky Allardice, formerly of Astley Bridge and now the Bolton club.

He hit 39 as a number of wickets fell around him but when he was finally out to a Wayne Harper catch off the bowling of David White, the Association were 70 but well behind the run-rate with only 20 overs remaining.

David White finished with 2-12 off nine overs while Westhoughton's Mike Crookson had 2-34.
