There are so many deaths a year,

All the work of the Demon Beer.

You might say it makes you feel good,

But if you really understood.

Just what alcohol can do,

It can really ruin you.

Clouds the mind and makes you stagger,

Turns some into a nasty begger.

Makes you sick and rots your liver,

Your stomach lining's gone forever.

When in drink you feel so brave,

Stupid and silly it makes some behave.

Yes how competent you feel,

So you get behind the wheel,

Even though you hit the brake,

Someone's heart is going to ache.

All because you like a tipple,

Some poor soul may be made a cripple.

So when you are out drinking,

Have a heart and please be thinking.

Someone's life could be on the line,

Don't want it to be yours or mine. P Mann, Settle Street, Bolton.
