A SHOCKED pensioner is recovering in hospital after being hurled to the floor by a yob burgling her home.
The 71-year-old disturbed her attacker as he rifled through her house in Hope Street, Leigh.
The burglar walked in through an open back door and the woman found him in the front room.
He pushed her to the floor before escaping with a video recorder and £40.
The woman was badly distressed but managed to raise the alarm. She was taken to hospital with shock and severe bruising to her back and ribs.
Today detectives are hunting for a slimly built youth, aged about 18 with mousy hair.
The woman told police her attacker was wearing a dark coloured anorak.
