SIR: Dennis Watson is quite right when he writes about the 'Down Side' of the proposed new incinerator at Raikes Lane, because although the figure for the burning rate has been cut to 20 tonnes per hour, it still gives a yearly throughput of 120,000 tons.
If the emissions are to be as low as claimed, then dioxins and heavy metals have to be filtered out during the burning process. Then what happens?
How will it be stored, and, most importantly, where will it be dumped? Is this part of the Red Moss plan? Has all this been discussed, and if so, by whom.
The public have a right to know the full ramifications, not just the glossy public relations exercise.
