NEARLY 20 people from New Bury took a step backwards and raised money for the Cancer Relief Macmillan Fund.
Organised by Eddie Birchall from Barton Road, Farnworth, the intrepid fund-raisers raised £50 by running backwards tied together as a group.
Eddie said: "I'm delighted that so many people helped to make the 1996 Nationwide Macmillan Mile Challenge such a huge success.
"I very much hope we can organise another event next year to give further support for people with cancer."
