SIR: I write in reply to the letter about topless barmaids being tasteless.
It is a cheap and tasteless ploy, as well as not being politically correct for women to have to prostitute their bodies in this degrading manner simply because the brewery industry cannot make enough money and does not know where to turn their attention next.
Like many jobs, bar work, with the exception of a few places, has always been in the low paid sector. Many women have to resort to this work because often it is the only part-time work available.
Barmaids, as it is, have quite enough to contend with. One would also like to think that most women are intelligent and have moved beyond satisfying lecherous cavemen lusts.
