A TEENAGE boy in council care appeared before Bolton magistrates accused of serious allegations against a woman.
The youth, aged 17, was charged with attempting to murder and rape the 46-year-old woman during an incident in which a knife was used last Sunday. Miss Lauren Strang, prosecuting, said that because of the nature of the charges, neither Social Services nor the probation service could offer accommodation for the boy.
The youth was remanded in custody until May 1 and June 4 was fixed for committal proceedings to the Crown Court. The boy cannot be identified because of his age.
