STONECLOUGH booked a place in their second cup final of the season when they won their Premier Cup semi-final against Tottington United on aggregate.

They lost the second leg but emeged 6-3 victors over the two legs.

In the other semi-final, Hindley Green gave themselves a good start beating Ambassadors 3-0 in the first leg.

In the first legs of the Division One Cup semi-finals Farnworth CC and Hindley Green Res shared a 1-1 draw to set up a nailbiting Second leg while Atherton C&N Res beat Tottington United Res 3-2.

In the first leg of the Division Two Cup semi-final Tottington United A lost 4-1 to Little Lever who are going for three trophies in their first season in the league. In the other semi Atherton S&S left themselves a lot to do as they went down 5-0 to Ainsworth Res.

In the Tate Trophy Little Lever gave themselves a lead to take into the second leg with 2-1 win over Hindley Green Res. Howe Bridge Mills have new opponents in their Tate Trophy semi-final. Atherton C&N have been withdrawn from the competition for breach of rules and Tottington United A have been reinstated. The first leg is tonight with the second leg next Wednesday.

In the Premier Division Ainsworth beat Walkden AFC 8-2. Walkers Leisure kept up their fight for the top spot with a 2-1 win over Ambassadors while Atherton C&N rammed seven goals past a British Aerospace team clearly looking forward to the close season.

Stoneclough nudged nearer their second consecutive title beating Farnworth CC 4-1 and must be favourites to win the Bolton Evening News Open Cup and Premier Division Cup.

Hindley Green still have an outside chance of winning the title after a 6-3 win over struggling Walkden AFC.

Hindsford AFC must blame themselves for a 1-0 defeat to a Summerseat team they should have beaten easily.

Walkers Leisure lost any chance they had of winning the championship after a 1-1 draw against an Ainsworth team finishing the season on a high.

In Division One Tottington United Res beat Howe Bridge Mills 2-0 and with two home games remaining this young team still has a good chance of finishing in the runners-up spot.

Ainsworth Res continued their good run that should see them in the final of the Division Two Cup with an easy 5-1 win over Ambassadors Res.

Ladybridge's aim to finish high up the table was boosted by a 3-1 victory over Hindsford AFC Res.

Howe Bridge Mills Res must be fed up of Little Lever who have banged 22 goals past them in their last two games.

A 7-1 win earned Lever the Division Two title in their first season in the league which they went through without losing a game.

In the Supplementary Cup Division One Group B Adlington Athletic beat Farnworth CC Res 3-2 and in Division Two Group A Tottington A beat Walkden AFC Res 5-2. RESULTS AND TABLES
