THE final of the Lancs Amateur League Cup will be between new champions Rochdale St Clements and Royton Town who finished second.

It was local sides Old Sladians and Old Smithillians who narrowly lost out in the semi-finals, each by just one goal.

Old Boltonians finished the leading local side in sixth position in the Premier Division in their first season back.

They were joint third highest scorers and fourth best for goals against.

The leading goalscorer was John Fairhurst in midfield with 18 followed by Stuart Williams with 14 despite being out for half the season. Goallkeeper Rob Dennard was a deserving player of the year.

Future met present in two competitive games between OB and school. Both were won by Bolts although in the first team game a 3-0 score did not do justice to the school.

John Fairhurst opened the scoring with a headed flick over the keeper, Stuart Williams fired in a left-footed drive and Mark Newton scored a late third.
