SIR: May we, through the medium of your excellent newspaper, express our grateful appreciation to the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllr A Rushton and his dear wife, as they approach the ending of their year in office.
Our Church Centenary was one of their earliest engagements, and we have been pleased to have been in their company at several events which they have supported throughout a very pleasant, very active, and eventful year.
We would like to add our tribute to all who have, like ourselves, been graced with their kindness and concern. They have always given unstintingly of their time, together with lots of tender, loving care (TLC) to all with whom they have come into contact. They are a real credit to our wonderful town. A shining example to everyone.
May we also thank their Secretary, Sally Hayes, and the loyal, supportive attendants, who serve them so unselfishly. On a memorable visit, when members of our Church were cordially invited to the Mayor's Parlour, they were most courteous and helpful.
In conclusion, we extend our greetings to the incoming Mayor and Mayoress. We offer them out best wishes for a really happy year. Yours, in the Son of God's love.
