SIR: On Thursday, April 15, at approximately 2.15pm my husband and I were in the Market Hall when the fire alarm sounded, a message over the tannoy stated (though not very clearly) there was an emergency.
We made our way out through the nearest exit, namely Knowsley Street, as did many others. Unfortunately, there were many people still entering the building at most entries we passed ie. Corporation Street, and Rushton Street. Surely members of Market Hall staff or security should be designated to proceed to each entry, in order to stop the public entering, during an emergency evacuation.
