SIR: I I feel I must write about the interview given by Angela Hayes' mum (BEN January 17): I knew my sex maniac daughter would wind up dead. I was appalled that two days after finding this poor girl's body her mother is on the front page of the BEN denigrating her. In my opinion I don't think the way she led her life justified the write up (mainly dictated by her mother) she was given. Surely her mother must realise that all the small minded people reading this article will now only be able to paint a grim picture of her, probably even saying she deserved what she got. What about her good qualities? What about the nice things about her? Why were they not printed? I knew Angela briefly. I admit she had some emotional problems, but she was an OK person on the whole. This is a sad and horrible tragic death. It's happened on our door step, this should be the point being made, not what she did in her own time. What is the world coming to when the old saying "blood is thicker than water" means nothing? It doesn't matter that she didn't live a perfect life. She was somebody's daughter. Does that count for nothing? I know I am not the only person feeling such disgust.
