A MAN suffered burns and the effects of smoke after he carried a burning mattress out of his house in early on Monday.
A candle set fire to the mattress at his home on Seddons Avenue, Radcliffe, while he was sleeping.
He alerted the four children and woman also in the house and alerted firefighters just after 1.30am.
He carried the mattress in to the front garden and put out the fire.
