Kevin Davies will be available for the Boxing Day game at Sunderland, despite Wanderers and the Premier League believing he was due to serve a one-match suspension.
Disciplinary charts suggested Daviess yellow card in the 4-0 win at Everton on Saturday was his fifth of the season, but the list was found to include a caution in the defeat at Fulham, which was never issued.
However, Davies' fellow striker, El-Hadji Diouf, now faces a one-match ban after collecting his fifth booking in the dying seconds of the Carling Cup defeat at Wigan.
If the caution is confirmed, he will miss the home game against Middlesbrough next Wednesday.
