RESIDENTS will be given their say over plans to build a new Bolton Wanderers football academy.

Members of the Lostock Residents' Association and the Lostock Residents' Group will be invited to join councillors in forming a new liaison committee.

The club has submitted outline proposals to build a sports pavilion with changing facilities and a car park with 55 spaces at Lostock Hall Farm in Ox Hey Lane, Lostock.

If the scheme goes ahead, it could see the Wanderers eventually moving their training ground from Euxton to Lostock.

But the planning application has caused concern among residents who are worried about the club building on Green Belt land. They said they were kept in the dark over developments.

The proposals will go before Horwich Town Council on Thursday, but are expected to be deferred until after the liaison committee examines them in January.
