THE Bury borough is one of the safest places to do business in Greater Manchester, according to a survey on business crime.
Companies in the borough are paying an average of £1,441 every year on repairing vandalised property and replacing stolen equipment, compared with a Greater Manchester average of £6,610. The survey was conducted by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
Paul Foster, the Chamber's local policy manager for Bury, said: "Although Bury has been shown to have the lowest incidence of business crime among our members, other areas are not so fortunate and we will be using the results to work with the police and local crime and disorder reduction partnerships to improve things in these areas."
