A CAR and a Transit van were involved in a motorway crash on Tuesday morning.
There were delays on the M61 Northbound near Junction 6 the Reebok Stadium shortly after 8am when a Honda Accord and the van crashed off the carriageway on to the embankment.
The cause of the crash was not known.
A police spokesman said the van driver was believed to have minor injuries.
The car driver sustained back injuries.
The motorway remained open while the vehicles were recovered.
