I THINK that Coun D'Albert ("Still uncertainty over school closure proposals", Letters, February 2)) has a cheek stating education is not safe in Labour's hands.
Since Labour came into power in 1997, billions have been invested into education in the UK, this amount is considerably more than Charlie Kennedy's "1p on income tax" proposal.
The school where I am a governor, Park View CP, has had two extensions, a new ITC suite, new gas boiler, the playground resurfaced, new car park, perimeter fencing and improvements to other buildings on the campus.
Bury MBC comes near to the top of the national league tables every year, due to the Labour councils outstanding commitment to education in the borough over many years.
This is why hundreds of parents living outside Bury seek to use our schools.
All four of my children are currently educated within the state system in Bury and the education they receive is first class.
"Education safe in Labour's hands?" Definitely!
