RAMSBOTTOM United are on their travels for the next three games with a point to prove to player-manager Lee Sculpher.

Despite dominating games, the Rams have been dogged by drawn games all season with a failure to convert chances being the main source of frustration.

The Rams drew again on Boxing Day when they were held by Bacup (2-2) and Sculpher said: "I think we had the chances to win the game but we did show some character to come back from a goal down.

"We enjoyed a lot of possession and their keeper made some fantastic saves but we had a fantastic chance to win it in the final minute and missed it.

"However, it's not a doom and gloom scenario and Lee Cryer took both of his goals well, while I though Jason Jones had a good debut for us.

"Jason actually thought he could play a lot better and that bodes well for us. He is a winner and the type of player I want in my squad."

Looking ahead to the clash with Curzon Ashton on Monday, Sculpher said: "Curzon is always a hard place to visit and they are a good, strong side.

"However, there is only Stewart Cartridge in the squad who is struggling and it's great to have a full hand to play with."

Sculpher is hoping his side can start turning draws into victories. He said: "We have drawn 13 out of 22 games now and that has left us midtable. If we had turned half of those draws into victories, we would be in the top three now."

United's next home game is on January, 21 against Salford City.
