RAMSBOTTOM United manager Lee Sculpher is looking for his side to raise their game this weekend after the 3-0 defeat against Nantwich on Saturday left him bitterly disappointed, writes Marc Higginson.

Sculpher said: "I was very disappointed after Saturday's game. I thought it was very even up until half-time but they got their noses in front and we were always chasing the game.

"We had a good claim for a penalty, but we didn't get it and seemed to throw the towel in after that. That is what angered me the most.

"We gifted them their first two goals. The first one was a result of our defender not getting goal-side of their striker and the second one was a free header from a corner. That is unacceptable at any level.

"But, we have chance to make amends against Trafford tomorrow (Saturday) and the lads will be up for it.

"When we played Trafford last, they weren't a bad side and they passed the ball around. They had some good movement up front but there's still no reason why we can't get a result there."

United have found out they will face Salford at home in the quarter-finals of the League Cup and Sculpher is hoping this will inspire his players to raise their games.

"I hope to see the players up their game in the next couple of matches so that they are selected for the Salford game and can go into it in high spirits.

"I am looking for an improvement and I'm sure I will get it."

Meanwhile, Barrie Hart will return to the side and Ryan Dervish faces a late fitness test. Jason Jones will return next weekend. However, Chris Nestor has returned to Clitheroe and is out of the squad for Saturday's game, which kicks-off at 3pm.
