A WOMAN suffered a serious head injury and a broken ankle after she plunged from a motorway bridge.
She landed on a Rover car travelling along the M60 clockwise at 5pm on Tuesday near Junction 17 at Prestwich.
Police received reports that a woman had been seen on the bridge but she fell before officers arrived.
The woman was taken to Fairfield General Hospital where she was in a stable condition. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The car driver was not injured.
