HIDETOSHI Nakata believes Wanderers could be about to see the best of him.

The on-loan midfielder is hoping for the chance to continue his run in the side at Arsenal on Saturday.

The Japanese playmaker has started 14 games this season, but only seven of them in the Premiership.

He has had no shortage of action in the six games during which Wanderers have been without their four African Cup of Nations stars.

He has played three full 90 minutes and started the Premiership game at Blackburn, where he was sent off.

He only missed the other two matches, against Manchester City and Portsmouth, because he was suspended for the first and injured for the second.

The return of the African quartet could restrict his appearances as the battle for places hots up.

If the Fiorentina man gets the go-ahead to play at Highbury, it could be a big game for him to prove he deserves to stay in the side.

And he believes he is ready to show his true worth.

He said: "I think my conditioning is quite good now so I just want to do my best."

Nakata is keen to produce the goods for Bolton but is too professional to be affected by not being picked.

"It has not been a frustrating time for me when I have not been in the team," he said.

"I know how it goes in football. Sometimes you play well, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you play, sometimes you don't play.

"That's just the way it is so I just do my best, keep in good condition and play well.

"There are still a lot of matches to play. We are in a good position in the league and in both cups so there is a lot of football still to play."
