A GYM and fitness club which opened 13 years ago is to close.
The closure of LA Fitness in Chapel Street, Bury, comes as the premises are earmarked for demolition under the £150 million Rock Triangle plans.
More than 15 staff have been offered transfers to other LA Fitness clubs but only one has accepted.
A spokeswoman for LA Fitness said: "We have received a compulsory purchase order from Bury Council. Obviously, we are complying with that and our premises will close on March 1.
"All staff were consulted and members informed. Members are being offered the opportunity to transfer their membership to other LA Fitness clubs as we want them to stay with us."
