IT'S all aboard for East Lancashire Railway's first-ever FebFest beer festival this weekend

The three-day event, which ends on Sunday, is being held in a marquee at ELR's Bolton Street Station in Bury.

And a TrainFest event running alongside will feature ales served aboard a train hauled by a vintage locomotive.

Throughout the beer festival, there will be more than 60 real ales available, represented by large regional breweries and micro breweries located within the North West. Food will also be available in the marquee.

Visitors taking advantage of the TrainFest event will be able to enjoy their favourite tipple and view the scenic West Pennine moors while travelling on the train.

Sessions times are noon to 5pm and 6pm to 11pm. Last entry for each night is 10.30pm.

FebFest is a new event launched by the East Lancashire Railway to help sustain and preserve the heritage railway tourist attraction for future generations.

A spokesman said: "The money generated from this event will be ploughed into developing our history and geography educational service to primary and secondary schools scheduled for later this year."
