I WOULD like to respond to the article by Cllr Nick Peel, who suggests Pat Cooper must be living on another planet regarding Labours recent comments in the press on grey bin collections, and any link to the local elections.

If Labour are so against the fortnightly collection, why have we not seen the vote of no confidence in the Liberals that they talked about instigating?

Labour initially supported the decision by the Liberals until they realised the amount of dissatisfaction the new system was causing.

Cllr Morris was also expressing his objections in the Bolton Journal (February 2). If the Labour councillors think that the people of Bolton dont realise they are using this issue for electioneering purposes, then it is they who are on another planet.

Cllr Morris has also stated that the Liberals have wasted millions on consultants.

Is he suggesting that this practise did not take place when they were in charge of the Council? (Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones). Havent some of these consultants been brought in to help the Council to meet targets and introduce other systems imposed by the Labour government?
