THREE cheers for Dr James, in his opposition to the proposal for super surgeries.
I have been his patient for some 20 years, during which he has helped me to face osteo-arthritis, eczema, gall bladder removal, prostate cancer, and a heart attack, in addition to the lesser ailments.
The rapport which has developed between us has been an important factor in my ability to face my problems.
Since I live in Lostock, I fear that I would be expected to join the surgery in Horwich or Westhoughton, thereby losing an important relationship.
I know that the doctors at Spring House have invested much time, energy, and their own money into building up one of the finest practices in Bolton.
If the powers-that-be have £60m to spare, Im sure the Royal Bolton Hospital could use it to expand their services, particularly the baby care unit, and ensuring that patients do not have to be taken outside in a state of undress to have an angiogram, as I did recently.
I am a firm believer in the old saying If it aint broke, dont fix it.
