A COUNCILLOR has called for urgent action to resolve the chaos caused by major roadworks in Bolton town centre.
The new chairman of Bolton's Environment Scrutiny Committee, Cllr John Walsh, wants something to be done about the roadworks at the Manchester Road and Trinity Street junction and the start of new roadworks on Churchgate.
Weekend closures at Newport Street for remedial work to the new arch bridge have added to the problems for motorists Cllr Walsh said: "I hope that the Executive Member and Council officers will seek a way to end the chaos caused by these two schemes."
