ATHLETICS: Burnden Roadrunners Ladies continued to excel in the Central Lancs Grand Prix when the club took part in the fourth fixture of the competition at Haigh Hall.
They finished first in the team event and also picked up a collection of individual prizes for category winners. Izzy Hughes was first home for Burnden, claiming second F40 prize and, just four days after completing a gruelling 60 mile fell race, posted her personal best time on the hilly course.
Kirsty Preece was third F40 while Shirley Staveley won the F45 category and Lesley Fisher and Anne Ferguson were first and second F50. Jane Forrest, Susan Williams and Liz Hopley completed an excellent team performance by the Burnden Ladies.
John Knowles was first home for the men’s team in an excellent time of 22:33.
