THE case of a man who has pleaded guilty to supplying cannabis has been sent to crown court.
Mehul Patel, aged 25, of Claremont Court, Bolton, admitted to supplying cannabis with another man on October 12, last year.
Bolton Magistrates Court heard police arrested Patel in Stewart Street, Halliwell, at around 5.40pm when they searched a Vauxhall Vectra he was sat in with another man.
Officers found 12 snap bags of cannabis bush in a rucksack in the passenger side footwell of the car, then discovered another nine snap bags which fell from inside Patel’s trousers when he was asked to get out of the vehicle.
The drugs were worth around £420.
Magistrates said they did not have sufficient powers to sentence the matter and adjourned the case until July 5. Patel was granted bail.
