BIKERS have unknowingly put themselves in the frame while taking to the country roads in Belmont.

Susan Rigby’s passion for motorbikes and photography has seen her sit for hours in the picturesque Bolton village capturing motorcyclists as they ride along the winding roads.

The 45-year-old, who lives in Hindley, said: “I’ve been known to sit out all day and snap 3,500 images.

“l like capturing motion. I have loved motorbikes for as long as I can remember.

“I am going to the TT Races in the Isle of Man to take photographs.”

The keen photographer is now planning to stage her first exhibition — quite an achievement given she only took up her hobby six months ago after doing a part-time course.

Miss Rigby took up photography after being injured in a car accident which forced her to give up her job as a landscape gardener. In the future she hopes to turn professional. The show will feature 100 pictures, and some of her “models” probably don’t realise they have been snapped.

The mother-of-one will stage her exhibition in Rivington Village Bowling Club in Horrobin Lane, Horwich, on June 19 and 20, with doors opening at 10am until late.

She said: “The exhibition will not just feature bikers, I have got pictures of pets and of drift cars when they were shown at The Trafford Centre.”

And no motorcyling event is complete without a Pirelli Calendar.

One of the calendars, which are highly collectible, has been donated by the tyre company and will be given to the highest bidder as the exhibition will also double up as a fundraiser for Help for Heroes Charity and the North West Air Ambulance.

Miss Rigby said: “The photographs are not for sale but if anybody was to offer money for a particular photograph, I would donate the money to charity.”
