MOTORISTS escaped with minor injuries after a crash at an accident blackspot where a group of teenagers nearly lost their lives just weeks ago.

A Royal Mail van and a Citroen were involved in a crash in Darwen Road, Bromley Cross near The Sportsman Pub just before 2pm yesterday.

The female driver of the Citroen suffered a grazed head and was taken to hospital for checks.

The collision happened near to where Christopher Marr mounted the pavement and ploughed into a group of teenagers as they were walking home in the early hours of August 22.

Devon Foster, aged 14, Jacob Fear, aged 15, and George Coleman, aged 16, all suffered horrific injuries.

Residents have labelled the stretch of the road as an accident blackspot and called for measures to be put into place to stop speeding drivers.
