A PROLIFIC thief is being hunted by police after he failed to stick to the conditions of his early release from prison.

Damien Baxendale, aged 21, formerly of Briercliffe Road, Deane, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for handling stolen goods in March this year.

He was released on September 14 after early release, due to time spent on remand.

But he has since breached the terms of his licence by failing to see the probation service, failing to live at a specified address and failing to adhere to a curfew.

He has links to the Deane and Rumworth areas and has been spotted in Briercliffe Road.

PC Fay Dixon, of the Offender Management Unit at Bolton, said: “Baxendale has made absolutely no attempt to adhere to the terms of his release from prison and I would urge anyone who knows where he is to contact police.

“It is likely there are people assisting him and I want to stress to them that doing so is a serious offence that could land you in a lot of trouble.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Offender Management Unit at Bolton on 0161 856 5544, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
